Secretary: Laurie McGovern
Laurie McGovern is a second grade teacher at Pioneer Primary School in Shelton, Washington. She is the director of an extended-day program called Imagination Station. She offers workshops on the arts of many cultures, story-theatre opportunities and teaches technology workshops in her district. She has served WAETAG as the southwest representative for several years.
Central Region: Linny Jones
From my very first awareness of differentiated learning, and the plight of our most forgotten, least served students, I have been passionately determined to be an advocate for highly capable students!  Having taught grades 1-4 in a variety of settings, I am now happily settled in at third grade in Leavenworth, Washington.  I have been the person leading the charge towards services for these students for the past 3 years. In our small district, with limited budgets, I am privileged to be part of a staff that shares my vision.  Although I am not a seasoned veteran of gifted education, I might be its most enthusiastic rookie.

I love connecting with other educators across the state who are just as passionate as I am.  I welcome your partnership in our endeavors!

Eastern Region: Betty Burley-Wolf
Betty Burley-Wolf has served as the WAETAG Eastern Representative for the last two years.  She has been a member of WAETAG for 20 years and attended and presented at many conferences.  Betty has her masters degree in gifted education from Whitworth College and is the founding director of Pioneer School.  Pioneer School serves gifted and highly capable students in Spokane Valley, grades K-5, and has been successful for 26 years.  When Betty is not busy at school, she coaches ski racing at Schweitzer.  Her two daughters, ages 11 and 13, attend West Valley City School and are competitive ski racers.
